Is the music from Love to Sing registered with a Performance Rights Organization (PRO)?

All the music on www.christmassongsandcarols.com is registered with APRA, the Australasian Performing Rights Organization (PRO).

What is a PRO?

A performance rights organization is an entity that collects royalties for songwriters when their compositions are publicly performed. This is often associated with TV, radio and film productions, but it affects any public performance that includes music.

What do I have to do?

If you license our music for a project that will be publicly broadcast (TV, radio, film), you need to submit a cue sheet for your usage. This should be sent to the PRO of your country. Please also send a copy of your cue sheet to [email protected].

If you act as the broadcaster of the video, you need to clear this use with the PRO of your country. A typical example is if you upload the video directly to your own website. In that case, you are the broadcaster and you need to pay a fee to the PRO.

What information should I put in the cue sheet?

Music Provided by Love to Sing:

Role: Composer/Arranger

Composer: Linda Adamson

Publisher: Love to Sing Ltd

PRO: APRA

IPI number: 00188271637

Is this an extra expense for me?

Submitting a cue sheet is free to do (you simply send an email) if your video will be shown on a TV network or similar. Unless you are the broadcaster, you shouldn't have to pay any extra fees
